Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded strongly to critics who attacked her for choosing not to have children, insisting that her personal decision does not make her a failure.
The former Big Brother Naija winner had earlier revealed that she prefers to have pets rather than become a biological mother, a comment that sparked widespread debate on social media.
In a heated response, Phyna criticised those insulting her over the decision, describing such reactions as backward and hypocritical. She said many Nigerians struggle to respect personal choices and often judge others unfairly.
According to her, her stance is shaped by her childhood experiences, adding that she does not want to raise a child in the same way she was raised.
“Me wey dem born, how dem take care of me… I don’t want to bring a child into this world. I’m scared of becoming a parent like the one I had,” she said.
Phyna also dismissed critics who questioned her decision, saying she would not be pressured into motherhood by societal expectations.
She further expressed frustration at what she described as constant insults, insisting that choosing not to have children is a personal right that should be respected.
The reality TV star has previously sparked conversations online with her outspoken views on relationships, gender roles, and lifestyle choices.
