Bassey Otu has pledged that Cross River State will deliver three million votes to Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The governor, represented by his deputy Peter Odey, made the declaration on Saturday during a 1.5 million mega endorsement rally held at the Ikom Township Stadium.

Addressing supporters at the event, Otu said preparations for the 2027 elections had already begun, urging party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure eligible voters obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.

“We are going to give three million votes to our leader in 2027. The work starts now. Mobilise your people and ensure they get their voter cards because without them, they cannot vote,” he said.

The governor also commended Tinubu for his role in addressing the long-standing oil well dispute between Cross River and neighbouring Akwa Ibom State, noting that the President facilitated dialogue between both parties.

He further highlighted key federal projects, including the proposed coastal highway linking Calabar to Lagos and the planned Bakassi Deep Seaport, as indicators of the administration’s commitment to the state’s development.

According to him, combined efforts of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda and the state’s People’s First policies would reposition Cross River economically and politically.

Otu also disclosed that the state government had released N10bn to settle outstanding gratuities owed to workers, assuring that more funds would be made available to clear remaining liabilities.

In his remarks, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Emmanuel Ironbar, described the “Prince is Coming” movement as a grassroots-driven political structure that played a key role in the emergence of the current administration.

He said the initiative, launched in 2020, has grown into a formidable platform committed to equity, justice and people-oriented governance.

Also speaking, Soni Abang, expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, stating that ongoing reforms would stabilise critical sectors such as fuel pricing and food supply while driving long-term economic growth.

The rally attracted thousands of supporters from across the state, with party leaders calling for unity and urging stakeholders to avoid internal divisions ahead of the 2027 elections.
