One Sport TV has confirmed it will deliver extensive coverage of the Sahara Conference of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) after successfully securing media accreditation for the tournament.
The Nigerian-based sports platform will focus on providing rich, on-ground content beyond live broadcasts, including behind-the-scenes access, player interviews, coaches’ reactions, as well as coverage of press conferences and high-quality visual content from the event.
Speaking on the milestone, Head of Sport Media and Management, Kator Ujah, described the opportunity as a major step forward for Nigerian basketball media and storytelling.
He noted that the accreditation is not just about access to games but about understanding how top-level basketball competitions are packaged and presented globally, with the aim of replicating such standards back home.
"Earning media accreditation for the Basketball Africa League Sahara Conference in Morocco is more than just access it’s a responsibility. For me, it represents a front-row seat to the evolution of African basketball at its highest professional standard, where storytelling, structure, and global presentation meet the game we love.
Coming from Nigeria, a country rich in basketball talent and passion, this opportunity is about bridging the gap between potential and visibility. Alongside my colleagues at One Sport TV, the goal is to study the BAL ecosystem its production quality, media operations, athlete narratives, and fan engagement and translate those learnings into actionable growth for Nigerian basketball media.
This experience isn’t just about covering games; it’s about understanding how great basketball stories are built, packaged, and delivered to the world. And more importantly, how we can bring that same level of professionalism, depth, and global relevance back home to elevate how Nigerian basketball is seen, told, and remembered."
The Sahara Conference is scheduled to take place in Rabat from April 24 to May 3, 2026, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, featuring six top clubs battling for playoff qualification.
Participating teams include FUS Rabat, Al Ahly, Club Africain, ASC Ville de Dakar, Nigeria’s Maktown Flyers, and JCA Kings, with the top four teams advancing to the BAL Playoffs and Finals in Kigali.
With this development, One Sport TV aims to elevate the visibility of African basketball by delivering engaging stories, exclusive content, and professional coverage that reflects the growth and global relevance of the sport across the continent.
