Former Manchester United FC and England national football team forward Wayne Rooney believes Manchester City FC have a psychological advantage over Arsenal FC as the Premier League title race intensifies.

Arsenal suffered a setback over the weekend, falling 2-1 at home to Bournemouth, a result that opened the door for City to close the gap with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola’s side are now just six points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, setting up a thrilling run-in.

Rooney: Arsenal Will Be “Worried”

Speaking on the BBC’s The Wayne Rooney Show, Rooney suggested that City’s experience could prove decisive in the title battle.

“I think City will have the edge, just purely because of the manager and the players they’ve got. They’ll be able to stay a little calmer than Arsenal,” he said.

“They will be worried because when you go on a run and lose games, you start thinking where the next goal or win will come from. That negative mindset really affects performance.”

Crucial Clash Ahead

Attention now turns to a massive showdown this Sunday, when City host Arsenal in what could be a defining moment in the title race.

Rooney hinted that Arsenal may adopt a more cautious or physical approach to secure a result.

“They might even take a point. Whether fans like it or not, they may have to do whatever it takes to stop City winning. They need to be resilient,” he added.

Title Race Heating Up

With momentum shifting and pressure mounting, the clash between Guardiola’s City and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could ultimately shape the destination of the Premier League trophy.
