LeBron James delivered another standout performance to guide the Los Angeles Lakers to a 101-94 victory over the Houston Rockets, giving them a 2-0 lead in their first-round NBA play-off series.

Despite missing key players including Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves through injury, the 41-year-old James stepped up with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists to control the game.

For Houston, Kevin Durant returned to action after missing the series opener, finishing with a team-high 23 points. However, his impact waned in the second half, where he managed just three points and committed nine turnovers.

The series now shifts to Houston for the next two games in the best-of-seven matchup.

Meanwhile, concern surrounds Victor Wembanyama after the San Antonio Spurs star suffered a concussion during their 106-103 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

The 7ft 4in Frenchman, recently named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, had scored five points before the incident. He hit his face on the floor after being knocked off balance while driving to the basket and was later ruled out after entering concussion protocol.
