Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has opened up about why she no longer attends church services physically, a revelation that has sparked conversations among fans online.

In a video shared via her Snapchat on Sunday, the actress explained that she now prefers to worship from the comfort of her home while attending to personal responsibilities.

According to her, the decision was largely influenced by the constant attention she receives whenever she steps into church, particularly from media teams.

“I don’t go to church anymore. Anytime I attend, they keep taking pictures of me,” she said. “So I prefer to join online, make breakfast, and work on my projects.”

Akindele noted that the frequent camera focus during services makes her feel uncomfortable and distracted, preventing her from fully engaging in worship.

Despite her personal choice, she revealed that her children still attend church physically, while she remains at home to support them and manage her schedule.

The actress added that worshipping remotely allows her to maintain privacy, focus on her faith, and balance her demanding career in filmmaking.
