The Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has dismissed reports claiming it placed a ban on songs by Nigerian music star Burna Boy following his reported altercation with DJ Tunez.

In a statement released on Thursday, the association described the reports as false and misleading, clarifying that no directive was issued to restrict the artist’s music.

The National President of the association, Prince Akim Edeh, said he did not authorise any action to ban or limit the airplay of Burna Boy’s songs.

According to him, the association strongly condemns violence and remains committed to maintaining professionalism within the entertainment industry.

“We noted with grave concern reports surrounding a recent incident involving a Disc Jockey and Burna Boy,” Edeh said in the statement.

“As a body dedicated to the growth and integrity of the entertainment industry, we maintain a firm and unwavering stance against any form of violence or physical confrontation. We are currently monitoring ongoing investigations.”

He added that the association aims to promote cooperation between DJs and performing artists in the Nigerian music industry.

The association also clarified that DJ Tunez is not a registered member of the organisation.

DJAN further urged the public to remain calm while relevant authorities investigate the incident.

“We urge the public to remain calm and allow the appropriate authorities to investigate the matter. We did not and have no intention of placing a ban on Burna Boy’s music or that of any other artist,” the statement added.
